Department of Political Science

The department of Political Science in Govt College Bhakhara, Dhamtari(C.G.) was established at graduation level classes  since the beginning of the college . The Department of Political Science is working to provide the best educational opportunities to the students as well as to develop the ability to live in the competitive era. Every year, the students are welcomed with the spirit of developing knowledge and talent along with the subject matter in the department.  The department, it is trying to motivate the students to make teaching activity creative and develop new ideas. Programs such as group discussions, seminars, instantaneous speeches and writing work on the course are encouraged . The Political Science Department also emphasizes that it is  necessary to understand the immediate national, international, regional and local type of political events. In the department   the study of state government, government institutions, election system, party system, political behavior, constitution, judiciary human rights women's issue  etc. is being done in abrader way.

Participation in Institutional Social Responsibility(ISR) and Extension activities:

The faculty members and students are regularly  participating in the Institutional Social Responsibility and Extension activities organized by the NSS and Health Unit ofthe college.

SWOC analysis of the department and future plans.

Strength

Efficient, Sincere and hard working faculty with proper teaching-learning infrastructural facilities such as departmental library and central library. 100% syllabus cover every year.

Weakness

Minimum interaction with indivisioul course students, because of huge number.

University Syllabus and Course Structure is not up to date. And not Sufficient Faculty according student teacher ratio .

Opportunities

Wide scope for the students to build up their career.

Scope for the vast teaching experience and improvement of  teaching for the faculty members.

Challenges     

Difficult to take general classes due to large number of students.

Backwardness and poverty of the students. And additional work of library operate by political science faculty.

Future Plans

The main objective of the department is to produce maximum number of good students and encourage them for higher education. Faculty members also strongly desire for building-in-depth knowledge of the subject in the mind set of the students so that they can establish them selves in future at different All-India level Competitive Examination. The primary aim of the department is to develop the basic concept of” Morality “among students so that they would become a good and responsible citizen in future.
